Treatment Disclaimer
1. Scope
This Treatment Disclaimer applies to treatments and wellness services provided by Lok Yan Chan trading as Shavat Uplift, and, where relevant, to practical activities during our workshops, such as the use of essential oils or self-care techniques.
SHAVAT METHOD™ professional practitioner training courses are governed separately by the Professional Training Terms & Certification Agreement.
2. SHAVAT METHOD™ Treatments
SHAVAT METHOD™ treatments use a specialist holistic approach that may integrate techniques including Eastern Bojin methods, Western fascia release and lymphatic drainage.
Treatments are intended for purposes including:
aesthetic wellness;
relaxation;
facial and body wellness; and
supporting natural facial and body appearance.
The particular techniques used will depend upon the treatment booked, professional assessment, suitability and individual circumstances.
3. Non-Medical Status
Treatments provided by Shavat Uplift are wellness and aesthetic services.
They do not constitute and are not intended to replace:
medical advice;
medical diagnosis;
medical treatment;
dermatological treatment;
physiotherapy; or
other regulated healthcare services.
Unless a practitioner separately holds an applicable regulated healthcare qualification and is acting within that professional capacity, Shavat Uplift practitioners do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medical treatment.
Where you have symptoms or medical concerns, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
4. Individual Results
Every person responds differently to manual and wellness treatments.
Individual experiences, physiological responses and visible results may vary according to factors including:
anatomy;
tissue characteristics;
lifestyle;
age;
treatment history;
general health;
frequency and consistency of treatment; and
individual response.
No particular aesthetic or physiological result is guaranteed.
Photographs, testimonials, treatment examples and previous client experiences should not be interpreted as a guarantee that another client will experience the same result.
5. Health Information & Contraindications
Clients are responsible for providing relevant information reasonably requested before or during treatment, including information concerning:
medical or health conditions;
allergies and sensitivities;
pregnancy;
injuries;
recent surgery;
medication where relevant;
recent Botox, fillers, thread lifts, laser or energy-based procedures;
active inflammation or infection; and
other relevant contraindications.
This information allows us to assess treatment suitability and adapt, postpone or decline treatment where reasonably necessary for client safety.
6. Medical Consultation & Suitability
If you have an underlying health condition, unexplained symptoms, recent surgery or another medical concern, you may be advised to consult your GP or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional before treatment.
Where appropriate, Shavat Uplift may request medical advice or clearance before proceeding with a treatment.
A decision to modify or postpone a treatment for safety reasons does not constitute a medical diagnosis.
7. Temporary Treatment Responses
Manual treatments may sometimes result in temporary responses such as:
redness;
tenderness;
mild soreness;
temporary sensitivity; or
other short-term responses associated with manual techniques.
You should inform your practitioner if you experience unusual discomfort during treatment.
If you experience symptoms that concern you following treatment, seek appropriate medical advice.
8. Client Responsibility
Clients should:
provide accurate information during consultation;
disclose relevant contraindications;
follow reasonable safety and aftercare instructions;
ask questions where anything is unclear; and
seek medical advice where a medical concern exists.
Shavat Uplift is not responsible for an adverse outcome to the extent that it results from material information being withheld, failure to follow reasonable safety instructions, or circumstances for which liability may lawfully rest elsewhere.
9. Professional Responsibility
Nothing in this Disclaimer removes Shavat Uplift's responsibility to provide services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Relationship to Professional Training
This Disclaimer applies to client treatments and, where relevant, practical workshop activities.
It does not govern SHAVAT METHOD™ Professional Practitioner Certification, competency assessment, practitioner rights, training materials, insurance requirements or teaching rights.
Those matters are governed by the SHAVAT METHOD™ Professional Training Terms & Certification Agreement.
